What is your turnaround time?

One thing to be aware when shopping for a wedding photographer is their turnaround time for editing. Our turnaround time is about 4-6 weeks, depending on the season. For a 3 days Asian weddings turnaround is 6-8 weeks. Our goal is to deliver you high quality images in a timely fashion so that you can enjoy your memories while the memories still fresh.

Why should we do a first look?

The first look allows you to spend a bigger portion of your wedding day with your husband by taking portraits with him before the ceremony. It allows your timeline to be a bit relaxed and you’ll have more time to join your guests at the party! The first look is a time for you to see each other privately without the pressure of a crowd, which means you get to hear what your groom thinks of your dress! We highly recommend First Look when the ceremony is very close to sunset.

When and how do we book you?

Most brides contact us 6-12 months before their wedding date to make sure we are available. This usually happens after the venue has been booked. After we discuss all the details with you, you can book us by filling out our contract online and paying the 50% down payment to lock date and price. We accept checks and credit card with a 2.7% transaction fee, the remaining balance is due 2 weeks before your wedding.

Do you touch up all the images in our image download?

Yes we do. Every image we deliver is post produced with our unique signature style of post production. This involves color correction, exposure adjustment, selective black and white processing, clarity adjustments, tone-mapping, and other corrections. Many photographers will not post produce any images, or will only post produce “select” images from your wedding. This means that you may have pictures that are too dark, have strange skin tones or other common photography flaws.

Have you shot at my venue before?

We have shot at hundreds of venues, so there is a good chance that we have. However, if we have not, we will get to the venue early on the day of and be sure to perform a thorough walk-through to scout out the best photography locations. We also do extensive online research prior to your big day!

How would you describe your style?

Oh, this is a tough question! We asked some of our friends to help us out, and they agreed on these words.

Francine & Lionel Wedding Photography team is acclaimed for developing a unique style of wedding photography that is deeply rooted in wedding photojournalism while influenced by fine-art and fashion photography. We love using creative lighting, unique perspectives, angles, compositions and artistic post production refining to bring out our clients personalities and beauty while telling their wedding story. We pride ourselves on not just being photographers, but rather artists creating unique and expressive imagery. While photojournalism is a technique that forms the base layer of documenting a wedding (capturing event as they occur), fine art wedding photographers take an active role in directing, lighting, and composing each frame to make sure it reflects the true and natural beauty of you and your surroundings. We know how much energy and tought you’ve put into each detail of your wedding. It’s a custom-designed event by you, for your friends and family. That’s why we aim is to craft a collection of images that capture the emotions, colors and look & feel of your wedding.

Why to do an engagement session?

E-sessions are all about celebrating your love and life together in this special season. This sessions really help you and the photographers to know each other and to get more comfortable working together. If you are wanting to send out save the dates with photos, we recommend to do the session about 5 months in advance from the wedding date. We’ve also recommend our couples to use the engagement photos for guest book, slideshow and/or framed prints to be displayed at the wedding. Our E-sessions take place outside in the beautiful natural light If you need help with ideas, we can help you come up with the perfect spot  🙂

Can Family and Friends order prints?

Absolutely! Family and Friends can order prints, canvases and download the photos directly through your Online Gallery.

Do you deliver every image you shoot?

No,  do not. We eliminate duplicate images, test shots, missed focused shots, shots with bad expressions and other images that may dilute the overall product delivery. For example, because we shoot with low apertures, sometimes we take a few extra shots to make sure we have the perfect focus. We don’t expect you to have the expertise or the time to zoom into each image to select the one with the sharpest focus, so we spend hours doing that on our end. In another example, candid laughs and emotional tears are some of the best images from the day. Unfortunately, they can also yield some unflattering facial expressions. We might snap a few extras of any of these moments to make sure we have a great shot with the ideal expression for the moment. With our expertise of processing millions of images each year, we may eliminate ones that we feel are duplicates and only deliver the best one.

What size can we print our photos up to with our high resolution image download?

In most cases, you can print your photos up to 16×20 without any quality loss. If you’d like to print larger than 16×20, additional post-production will be required. For pricing on these services, please contact us.

 Do you have liability insurance?

Yes, We do. Many venues require the photographer to have Liability Insurance. We can always forward it to your Venue.
